In June 2004, the
United Nations endorsed 2005 as the International Year of Physics to bring the
excitement of physics to all. 2005 was chosen to coincide with the 100 year
anniversary of Einstein's miraculous year, 1905, when he published three of his
most famous contributions to physics. This lecture will explore the relevance
of Einstein’s ideas to everyday life.
Dr. Rob Pywell is a Professor
and Head of the Department of Physics and Engineering Physics at the University of Saskatchewan. Dr. Pywell in an
experimental physicist in the area of Subatomic Physics: the study of
the particles that make up the atomic nucleus and the forces of interaction
between them.
