2012 CAP High School Prize Examination

This is to announce the upcoming annual Canadian Association of Physicists (CAP) High School Prize Examination for senior high school physics students. The exam is to be held on the morning of Thursday April 5, 2012. This prize examination has been created by a Canada-wide national committee.

The examination contains multiple choice questions as well as three longer written questions The multiple choice section of the exam counts for about 40% of the mark while the long answer parts count for about 60%.

Students from across the country will write the same examination. The results of the Exam will be used by the National Physics Olympiad organization in their search for potential members of the Canadian team, which will go to the to 43nd International Physics Olympiad which will be held in Estonia between 15th to 24th July 2012. The top three students overall will receive automatic invitations to attend the 2010 National Physics Olympiad Finals.

2012 University of Saskatchewan High School Physics Competition

The Tenth annual University of Saskatchewan High School Physics competition is to be held on the morning of
Wednesday, May 9, 2012.  Prizes are scholarships that will be paid to students who enroll in any University of Saskatchewan first year Physics, Engineering Physics or Astronomy course. The Physics Competition has been created by professors at the University of Saskatchewan and will follow the Saskatchewan High School Physics Curriculum.  We expect that this test will be significantly more accessible to Saskatchewan High School Physics Students than the CAP High School Prize Exam.
